Race is a Modern Idea

Race is a modern idea, meaning people in ancient times didn’t divide one another by skin tone or where they were originally from. They separated each other based on religion, class, language, and status. The English language did not have the word race until a poem showed up written in 1508. Race has been around for about five-hundred and ten years. Before then, people of all skin tones and heritages could be seen together, without hate and biased views, because race didn’t exist. Once race had been established and used for some time, biased opinions began to build and people lost that peace between all.
